Dr. Mary Jiang completed her medical training at the University of Ottawa. She went on to complete residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa. She has completed her core fellowship in 2022 and is currently pursuing an academic fellowship at CHEO focusing on research and additional training in pediatric obesity care. Dr. Jiang’s clinical and research interests are in pediatric obesity, especially focusing on the management during transition of care.  

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the importance of transition from pediatrics to adult medical care.
  • Highlight successes from transition care programs from other chronic illnesses (e.g. Type 1 diabetes, cystic fibrosis, congenital heart disease).
  • Review the current literature on bariatric transition of care.
