Dr. Kenneth Reed, MD, FRCSC

Department of Surgery, McMaster University

 

Dr. Reed is the Guelph Bariatric Centre of Excellence's Surgical Program Director. He has had a career long interest in obesity, performing bariatric surgery for almost 30 years.

Dr. Ken Reed attended University of Toronto for both his Medical Degree and General Surgery Residency. 

He practises General Surgery in Guelph and has done so 1990.

Dr. Reed has been involved with Weight Loss Surgery since 1994. He established a program for Bariatric surgery at the Guelph General Hospital in 2000 added laparoscopic gastric bypass in 2004.

In 2009 Guelph General Hospital became a charter member of the Ontario Bariatric Network as a Centre of Excellence.

Dr. Reed has actively served the Board of the Ontario Bariatric Network since 2009. Currently he is the Chair of both the Surgical Task Force and the Weight Regain Task Force.
